MyPhoneExplorer is a new and unique free Android App that claims to let you spy on your Android device from anywhere you are. I wasn't really sure about this claim when I first saw it, since I had no idea what it was. Luckily, someone sent me a review copy of MyPhoneExplorer client for testing, and I just had to get down to review it. With all the malware that is out on the Android Market today, especially for free software, I am glad that there is a software company that wants to give something back to its community. In this case it is worth giving money for.
While MyPhoneExplorer looks similar to the free SMS Spy application, it does a few extra things for you. The free desktop version would constantly try to install itself on your computer, causing more damage than it would save you. It also does not have the permission it needs to backup your sms, and could even cause issues when it gets them accidentally. Since most software tends to sync up to their desktop and web clients by default, you do not really require that much power from your PC for the software to sync to your phone.
When you download MyPhoneExplorer, it will also register as an application on your phone and attempt to access your phone's resources. You can then see any files that are being used and any changed on your phone. This is great for people who use several system apps on their phone at once, since they can quickly find out which app something was used on and create a back-up of everything they need in case something happens. The only thing that MyPhoneExplorer does not do is change anything on your phone, so if for some reason you need to export a text message, it would be necessary to download another application to do it.
